Embracing the Unexpected: A Journey of Surprises

    Updated: Aug 5

    The Joy of New Beginnings

Life has a funny way of surprising us. Just when we think we have it all figured out, God sends something unexpected that changes everything. This week, our house welcomed a new furbaby as we prepare for the arrival of our fourth child.

While this moment is new and exciting, it was quite unexpected. It has made me realize that not every blessing arrives on schedule. Some come wrapped in the unexpected, even the overwhelming. Yet, every single one is shaped by the loving hands of our Father.

    The Miracle of Life

Whether planned or not, every child—both furry and human—is a miracle. Each one is an eternal soul entrusted to us by God. Sometimes, these miracles come when we least expect them. They arrive in seasons we didn’t plan or in ways that stretch our hearts and homes.

But that’s just like God, isn’t it? He surprises us with what we didn’t know we needed. A baby’s laugh, tiny fingers around yours, the chaos, and the cuddles. The noise and the joy are not accidents—they are divine appointments.

    Finding Holiness in the Mess

Even in the tired days or the messy moments, we can trust that God is doing something holy. He gives us these little lives to shape, love, and learn from. In parenting, we grow too—deeper, softer, and more like Him.

Whether it’s a kitten, a kind word, or a child’s smile, God uses small things to do big work. Surprises remind us that we are not in control, but we are deeply loved by the One who is.

    Welcoming the Unknown

So today, instead of fearing the unknown, let’s welcome it. Let’s believe that every twist in the story is a chance to trust God more. It’s an opportunity to see Him more clearly in the unexpected.

What looks like a surprise to us is already part of God’s perfect story.

“Lord, help me to receive Your surprises with open hands and a grateful heart. Remind me that nothing in my life is by accident—and that every child, every change, and every unexpected moment is part of Your beautiful plan. Thank You for trusting me with gifts I didn’t even know to ask for.”

    The Beauty of Surprises

Surprises can be daunting, but they also bring joy. They remind us of the beauty of life. Each unexpected moment is a chance to grow and learn. Embracing these surprises can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our faith.

The Role of Faith in Surprises

Faith plays a crucial role in how we handle surprises. It allows us to trust in God’s plan, even when we cannot see it. When we lean into our faith, we find strength in uncertainty. We learn to let go of control and embrace the journey.

    Lessons from Our Furbaby

Bringing a new furbaby into our home has taught us valuable lessons. It has reminded us of the importance of love, patience, and responsibility. Caring for another being requires commitment and sacrifice. These lessons extend beyond our pets and into our relationships with one another.

    The Impact of Community

Surprises often bring us closer to our community. Friends and family rally around us during significant life changes. They offer support, love, and encouragement. This sense of community can make the unexpected feel less daunting and more manageable.

    Celebrating Every Moment

Every moment, whether planned or unexpected, deserves celebration. Life is a collection of memories, and each surprise adds to our story. By celebrating these moments, we acknowledge their importance in our lives.

    Conclusion: Trusting the Journey

In conclusion, life’s surprises are a beautiful part of our journey. They challenge us, teach us, and help us grow. By embracing the unexpected, we open ourselves to new experiences and deeper connections.

Let’s continue to trust in God’s perfect plan. Every twist and turn is an opportunity to see His hand at work in our lives.
