    The Hardest Part of Love

There are days I wish God would just take over. As a mother, watching someone you love walk a hard road—whether it’s your child, your spouse, or someone close—you start to whisper prayers like, “God, please make them see,” or “Can’t You just step in and change this?”

But God isn’t a dictator. He’s not sitting on a throne, pulling strings like puppets. He is love—and love always gives freedom. That’s the hard part.

He won’t force us to choose what’s right, or to turn back, or to forgive. He’ll whisper. He’ll wait. He’ll place reminders in our path. But He won’t overrule our will, even when our choices hurt ourselves or others. That’s painful—for us and for Him.

But that’s also the beautiful part.

Because if love was forced, it wouldn’t be love at all. And when someone does turn back, when a heart softens or a relationship mends—it’s real. It’s holy. It’s the kind of transformation only love can bring.

I remind myself that just as I don’t want my children to obey me out of fear, but out of trust and love—God feels the same about us. He wants our yes to be freely given, not demanded.

So I keep praying. I keep loving. And I trust that even when He doesn’t force the outcome, He’s still working all things together for good. Because while He may not force our steps—He never stops walking beside us.

    God Bless,
